What carries you through a Titan is not cleverness on any single cell but bookkeeping: knowing, at a glance, which of the numbers 1 through 25 a given row still owes.
That is exactly where paper pulls ahead of a screen. A printed 25×25 lets you do things the cell is too small to do on a phone:
- Tick off a number across the whole board. Pick the symbol 17, sweep every row and column, and lightly cross out the boxes where it is already placed. On paper you can mark twenty-five regions in one pass; on screen you would be scrolling and losing your place.

⏳ Solving a Titan Across Several Sittings
Almost nobody finishes a 25×25 in one sitting, and the puzzle is built on the assumption that you will not. A Medium Titan runs a few hours for an experienced solver; a Hard one is comfortably an all-weekend project that you chip at in half-hour bursts. Treating it as a multi-session puzzle changes how you should approach the paper itself.
- Solve in pencil, ink the locked cells. Once a cell is confirmed beyond doubt — a symbol that is the only candidate left in its row, column, and box — some solvers trace it in pen. It marks the solid ground you can build on when you sit back down cold, without re-deriving everything.
- Leave yourself a breadcrumb. Before you stop, jot a one-line note in the margin: “box 13 needs 4, 9, 22.” Coming back to a half-finished Titan with no notes means spending the first ten minutes just rebuilding where you were.
- Keep the answer key out of sight. Because the key is appended to the same PDF, print those pages onto a separate sheet and put them in a drawer. Across a multi-day solve the temptation to “just check one cell” is real, and one glance ends the puzzle.

🖨️ Printing a 625-Cell Grid So You Can Read It
A 25×25 asks more of your printer than any other Sudoku size. Twenty-five columns have to share the width of a single sheet, so each cell lands at roughly four-tenths of the width of a printed 9×9 cell. Get the print settings wrong and you end up with a beautiful grid you physically cannot write inside. A few habits keep it legible:
- Match the page size to your paper. The generator offers A4, US Letter, and Legal. If your printer holds Legal (8.5 x 14 in), choose it — the extra two inches of height give every cell noticeably more room than A4 or Letter, which matters a great deal when the grid is this dense.
- Print at 100%, never “fit to page.” The single most common way a Titan prints badly is a scaling option quietly shrinking it. In your print dialog set scale to 100% (or “Actual size”) and disable any “shrink oversized pages” or “fit” checkbox. The PDF is already sized to fill the sheet edge to edge; let it.
- Keep it portrait, and don’t crop the margins. The board is square but laid out to sit in a portrait sheet with the QR code tucked in the corner. Borderless or “fill” print modes can clip the outer grid line — leave the default margins so the whole frame survives.
- Choose a laser printer or high-quality inkjet setting. At this cell size the thin interior grid lines and the bold 5×5 box dividers are close together. A draft-quality inkjet pass can blur them into each other; a laser printer or the “high quality / best” inkjet mode keeps the box boundaries crisp, which is what your eye uses to navigate the board.
- Want it bigger still? Print A4 onto A3. The generator tops out at single-sheet sizes, but if you have access to an A3 printer or a copy shop, run the A4 PDF and ask for it enlarged to A3 at 141%. That roughly doubles the cell area and turns a tight grid into a genuinely comfortable one — the closest thing to a poster-format Titan without distorting the squares.

- Numbers (1-25): the standard board, filled with the digits 1 through 25.
- Alphabetical (A-Y): every value becomes a single letter, A through Y, where A is 1 and Y is 25. This is the classic Alphadoku layout, and on a 625-cell grid it is a real practical win — one letter per cell is far easier to read and pencil than a squeezed-in two-digit number.
Both print the exact same puzzle with the same single solution — only the symbols change — and the answer key follows whichever mode you choose. Numbers is the default; switch to Alphabetical (Alphadoku) any time before you download.
⚙️ Set Up Your Titan PDF
A 625-cell grid leaves no slack for a printer that crops the margins, so the generator above is built to drop the whole board onto one sheet at the largest readable size. Five short settings control the file you download:
- Difficulty. Easy, Medium, or Hard. The three tiers remove a fixed number of givens rather than a percentage, so an Easy board starts with 425 clues filled in, Medium with 365, and Hard with 325. Even a Hard 25×25 keeps roughly half the cells pre-filled, because a sparser board on this scale stops being solvable by logic alone.
- Layout. Locked to one grid per page. There is no two-up option here for a reason: halving a 25×25 would push each cell under half a centimetre, far too small to fit a row of pencil candidates. The grid always gets the full sheet.
- Page size. A4 is the default; US Letter and Legal are the other two options, matched to whatever paper your printer is loaded with. Legal (8.5 x 14 in) is the most comfortable of the three because the extra vertical length lets each cell breathe.
- Total pages. Generate 1, 2, 3, or 5 puzzles in a single PDF. Each one carries its own ten-digit ID and its own scan-to-play QR code, so a five-page download is effectively a small print-and-bind Titan booklet.
- Answer keys. Left on by default. The solved board is appended after the puzzles, with the clue cells tinted grey and every solved digit ringed with a thin circle so the key stays legible even on a black-and-white laser printer.
- Display. Print with the numbers 1 through 25, or switch to Alphabetical — the classic Alphadoku layout that fills every cell with a single letter A through Y (A = 1, Y = 25). On a 625-cell board a single character per cell is noticeably easier to read and write than a two-digit number, and the answer key matches whichever you pick.
